A superior quality 17th Century Yorkshire Coffer of fabulous colour and of rare small proportions. The wonderfully carved front with typical lozenge carved panels, the top rail and stiles carved with flowers and foliage, most unusually the bottom rail is carved with beast heads. One hinge has been replaced and there is an old blacksmiths repair to the front left leg, the leg is now extremely solid.
The Coffer otherwise is in very original condition.
