18th Century Cherrywood Bureau

A rare George 1st Bureau in solid cherrywood of excellent rich warm colour with stepped and shaped interior retaining the original locks and all but two of the original handles. Amazingly it seems to have kept its original Georgian keys for both the fall and the interior door.

Burr Walnut Bureau

A Fine Early 18th century Burr Walnut Bureau of superb colour and patina. With secret drawers and lock for the pilasters that flank the burr walnut central door. You can operate this lock by removing one of the small drawers next to the pilaster and sliding a hidden sliver of wood across to lock it in place. The handles are replaced in keeping with the period. The figure and tight burr configuration particularly that of the fall is quite wonderful.The colour and condition of the piece is how we like to see walnut of this period.

Early 18th Century Burr Walnut Bureau

An exceptional early 18th century figured burr walnut
Bureau of superb colour and surface. Retaining the rather unusual fine quality original handles of the type normally fitted for carrying. The bureau appears to be transitional in period between that of Queen Ann and George 1st. The two drawers above the waist mold are a rare feature that works very well with the piece. The original Oak linings are in lovely clean condition. The stepped interior features concave drawers and molding with a sliding well to the center. The cabinet work is first class.

Queen Ann Walnut Bureau

A fine Queen Ann Walnut Bureau of small proportions, well Figured matched veneers, superb colour and Patina. Retaining the original handles that are so typical of the Queen Ann Period with chased back plates, the locks are also original. The Bureau has a box wood stringing around the Fall, drawers and interior. The Fall opens to reveal a fine shaped stepped interior with a central door and slide that opens to reveal a well, a feature often found in early period bureau’s. The linings are in Oak with the veneer laid on pine drawer fronts as is often the case. The linings are as we always like to see them in very good clean condition.
