Set Of Four Fine 18th Century Mahogany Ladderback Chairs

An extremely rare set of four country house Ladderback Chairs of the finest quality, materials, design and craftsmanship.
The attention to detail along with the exceedingly fine work and choice of timbers used make these chairs special. There is a fine bead that has been moulded and carved to cover all visible edges of the chairs including the well made stretchers that are of much stronger section than the norm and matching the width of the legs. To the corners of the seat rails and all legs there is a nicely carved double arched corner. The back seat rail most unusually has been carved and shaped to match that of the rails above.
There is an aesthetically pleasing large rake to the back legs.
They are in wonderful original condition and of outstanding colour and patina.
The Chairs have been numbered on squares of plastic positioned on the underside of the seat rails, probably to record which room of the house they were situated in.
A quite possibly unique set of Ladderback Chairs.
