A fine and rare 18th century double gate Mahogany tea table with book matched top opening to reveal a leg at each corner The table is made from finest quality Cuban mahogany, well shaped and of pleasing small proportions with excellently executed and deeply carved shell and foliage to all four knees, feet and ear pieces. The colour of the table is outstanding. The handle on the drawer is original and the original hinges are stamped H.Tibats, hinges by this maker have been found on numerous pieces of finest quality 18th century furniture.
